Sacramento Beer Week 2017 kicked off with the Brewers Showcase at the California Automobile Museum. Over 40 local breweries were featured at this annual event that kicks off 11 days of events celebrating great local craft beer. We love this event as it often introduces new brews and collaborations that were designed just for Sacramento Beer Week, and attending this event lets you be one of the first to try them.
Saturday was the day we picked to walk to our neighborhood brewery, New Helvetia, with neighbors to celebrate their new release N E Land Park IPA. New Helvetia is a family and dog friendly brewery that invites you to play ping pong, giant Jenga, or other board games while sipping a beer and eating something tasty from one of Sacramento’s great Food Trucks. The kids joined us on this beer week adventure…and my daughter was the photographer.
Sunday it was off to the Track 7 2nd Annual Invitational & Competition. This event is a collective that is the best of what craft beer has to offer. The competition includes three categories, Best IPA, Best Specialty IPA, and People’s Choice. A group of professional brewers, media, and retail accounts judge the first two categories while the third category belongs to the people. The winning brewery takes home the Track 7 Champions Belt for one year.
With 35 of the top breweries in the Western United States this event is an IPA & Specialty beer lovers dream!
People’s Choice went to Fieldwork Brewing Company for the second year in a row for Galaxy Sauce.
