The sun is out! The sun is out! Oh my gosh, I feel like a Senior in High School! For me, Spring can be a crazy busy season with school coming to an end, fundraisers to be planned, and all the fun that comes with beautiful weather. I just like to start fresh with a cleaned, simplified, and freshened up home, a few new Spring fashion finds, and a yard worthy of enjoying. When Spring begins I know I only have a few more months until school is out. Soon we’ll find ourselves packing for a vacation, heading off to swim lessons, horse camp, zoo camp, or our fabulous movie nights and 4th of July on the block. For now, I hope to take it slow, sip a nice glass of wine or cool craft brew, enjoy my daughter playing outside, and soak up this beautiful Spring air.
Here are 10 things I do that get me excited for Spring:
#1. I always begin with my front porch. Bright pillows on our bench, new Spring flowers in pots, hang a fun Spring wreath on the door and find a colorful new doormat. I then like to sit out on the porch with a glass of wine and make my plan of attack on the yard.
#2. Have the windows and French doors cleaned. Looking out through clean windows makes me feel so good!
#3. Make my backyard Green Acres garden list. What vegetables am I going to plant? Flowers for decorative pots. Do I need new pillows for chairs? Stock up on sunscreen and mosquito repellents.
#4. Switch out my Winter pillows and accessories and bring in the freshness of Spring. I love changing it up inside the house!
#5. Brainstorm with my husband about our Spring Beer & Wine Fridge….what’s our favorite now? What will we want to sip on as the weather gets warmer? Right now I’m leaning toward Golden Road Saison Pamplemousse as my Spring Go to.
#6. Start planning our Easter morning Block Breakfast and Egg Hunt.
#7. Get back into my Boxer girl Sophie, and my “nice weather” walk routine. It feels so good to be outside again!.
#8. Start putting the heavy sweaters, boots, and coats away. Toss, get things cleaned, repaired and ready for next Fall.
#10. Camp. Get my daughter registered for her favorite Summer camps. Yes, March is the month. If you don’t do it now you may be out of luck.
