We kicked off St. Patrick’s Day Saturday night with a fabulous platter of corned beef & cabbage made by my Sister & Brother-In-Law. We paired our tasty traditional Irish meal with Track 7 Daylight Amber and Bogle Cabernet Sauvignon.

Sunday morning it was off to Bogle Vineyards for a St. Patrick’s Day picnic and to take advantage of our gorgeous 80 degree weather!  Bogle Vineyard’s Tasting Room is one of our local favorites located just down the River Road in Clarksburg California.  Six generations of Bogles have been farming in the Sacramento Delta and making wine for over 20 years.  Their grounds are beautiful and make for an eye pleasing and peaceful picnic.  Now, I am not a big Merlot fan…. However, I do suggest Bogle’s Merlot.  It received 88 points on the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Outstanding Values of 2013 list. It is the “Best Selling” Merlot in the US according to the October 12th, 2013 Neilson Premium Wine Scan.  Wine Spectator also gave Bogle 2010 Phantom 88 points – a crisp and zesty Old Vine Zinfandel with raspberry and spice aromas with cherry and roasted herb flavors.  We got the last table on the grounds…I think everyone had the same idea with the beautiful weather we’ve been having!  We quickly spread out our feast, got our Bogle wine selections, and sat down to soak in the sunshine, beautiful scenery, and watch the kids play on the lawn and explore the grounds.
If you have not visited Bogle Vineyards, or perhaps you have not been back in a while, please pay them a visit.  You will not leave disappointed!
