Our Friday Family adventure was staying right here at home in Midtown Sacramento for Art in the Street Sacramento Style.  We headed out early evening to Fieldwork Brewing for a cool brew for us, and Hot Pretzels for my daughter.  What to our wonderful surprise, Buskers!

This is why I love our City!

I heard them coming…and there they were…City of Tress Brass Band.  Patrons at both Fieldwork Brewing and Zocalo were movin and groovin to their fun New Orleans beat.  From here we moved on to Beatnik Studios for their current exhibit “Condensed”.  Condensed features artists from the Wide Open Walls Mural Festival which runs the month of August.

What is Wide Open Walls you ask?

The Wide Open Walls mural festival (WOW916) is taking place from August 10th through the 20th, 2017. It is bringing over 40 artists from around the world to Sacramento. The festival celebrates street art, and will transform walls and neighborhoods throughout the downtown area and beyond. It will also include opportunities for the public to meet the artists with events such as gallery openings, public mural tours, artists’ receptions and panels, First Friday and Second Saturday celebrations, the Wall Ball, and the unique opportunity to watch artists as they create their murals.

We are excited to be experiencing Wide Open Walls right here in our city!  Hopefully we’ll see you out and about watching these artists create life and movement throughout Sacramento.
