I woke to coffee and Marie’s donuts on Mother’s Day morning and to an excited 7 year old who had artfully put my Mother’s Day outfit together. The plan: A drive to Old Town Auburn for a little shopping and on to visit a few of our favorite Auburn breweries for Sacramento Beer Week, and of course…Mother’s Day. This is how this brewery lovin’ Mama rocked the bling on Mother’s Day:
We love day trips and Mother’s Day was the perfect day for a trip to Old Town Auburn! Old Town Auburn is where gold was first discovered in Placer County. Today it’s the location for special events, shopping, and dining all year round, including a weekly Farmers market, antique street fairs, a fall wine and food festival, four art walks, and a two-weekend old-time Country Christmas. This was the perfect place to relax and enjoy a slice of Old California’s treasures. The shops were open and families hustled about waiting for their tables for brunch, sipping coffee and hot chocolate, and of course buying Mom a special treat!
Here are a few of our favorite shops we love to support when in Auburn:
The charming Front Porch
The Silver Store. Best place to buy silver, and my daughter’s favorite place for fashion.
After a little shopping and introducing my Daughter to Razzles from Totally Cool it was time to take this brewery lovin’ Mama to Moonraker Brewing & Knee Deep Brewing for some Food Truck fun and a tasty IPA. Both breweries are kid and dog friendly, which is one of the reasons we love them so much. With games like Corn Hole, Jenga, and smaller board games you can’t go wrong with family fun while Mom & Dad get to sip a California craft beer.
Cheers from this Brewery Lovin’ Mama…rockin’ the bling on Mother’s Day!
