On the road again for a girls weekend. Our selection this weekend is visiting the beautiful Napa Valley. Kicking off our weekend we began at Stone Brewing for a leisurely lunch over-looking the Napa River and downtown Napa. Stone’s Tasty grilled cheese, warm Castelvetrano olives, and an IPA flight hit the spot and we were ready to roll!
Springtime brings out new beauty in Napa Valley!
Saturday morning we were treated to a wonderful cheese and wine pairing at Davies Vineyards in St. Helena. Our host and wine educator Rebecca, lead us through an educational tasting and sipping experience that we will never forget! Instantly taken in by the beauty and charm of the location, family history, and Rebecca’s easy spirit and knowledge of food and wine, I knew we were in for a treat! The flavor interactions showcased by small lot and reserve sparkling and beautiful reds from Davies Vineyards and Schramsberg were spectacular!
This one of a kind, fun experience in Napa Valley is not to be missed!
The history of the Shram/Davies family in the Napa Valley is fascinating, charming, and a true taste of how the Napa Valley evolved.
The Staff at Davies Vineyards recommended Salvestrin Winery, which happened to be right next door, and a beautiful walk in the Napa sunshine. We were happy to spend some time sipping their award winning wines and taking in the sunshine and beautiful vineyard views.
Salvestrin was recently voted one of Napa Valley’s Top 10 Small Undiscovered Wineries by Legendary Napa Valley.
No trip to Napa is complete without a visit to Oxbow Public Market (see my recent post). As we enjoyed a few plates of Eiko’s Sushi and Fieldwork brews for lunch, we discussed our next stop…Sipping sparkling wine in the Napa Valley sunshine at at Chandon.
We love our girls trips and are always looking for new ideas. How about you? What’s your favorite “girls getaway”? Leave us a comment and share your story!
